Need help starting with VR training? Book one of our workshops

Starting with VR training can be a daunting task. Where do you start? Do you simply copy-paste e-learning modules into VR or does it require a more advanced approach? Let us help with our new designed workshops.

Creating high-quality immersive training content is something different than - for instance - creating classroom presentations or an e-learning. Although the content can be similar, the way that content is presented requires a different approach. Not only the medium is different (instructor-led vs. desktop vs. VR headset), also the way the content is presented. In order to maximize the potential of VR, one should transform content into a story-based format as if you were really there. Bringing learners into that storyline, where they have to make choices and truly experience the outcome of those choices, is where you will see a significant change in engagement and impact.

Difficult to create? No, not when you know what to do. We can help with our new developed workshops. We have created 6 basic and advanced workshops to help you every step of the way when it comes to the creation and implementation of VR training.

All workshops can be followed online through Google Meet, Zoom or any other conferencing software you prefer. All workshops have a maximum of 10 participants in order to guarantee enough personal guidance. Interested in booking one of these workshops below? Contact us for questions and pricing.

Workshop to start writing story-based scenarios

Basic workshops

There are 3 basic workshops you can choose from:

1. Introduction into story-based immersive learning

In this basic workshop we will teach you and your colleagues about story-based immersive learning. What is story-based immersive learning? Why does it work? We will discuss the power of emotion, show research, show a lot of examples, explain the relation with gaming and gamification and tell you why storytelling should be a crucial part of any learning process.

2. Introduction into VR hardware

In this second workshop we will teach you and your colleagues about Virtual Reality hardware. We distinguish hardware required for creating and playing immersive learning scenarios. We will show you different types of 360 ̊ cameras, from consumer to high-end professional cameras. We will discuss hardware trends and tell you about all other equipment required to film yourself.

Next we will discuss VR headsets. Which ones are currently on the market, which one should you buy and what is yet to come? We also discuss device management, safety while playing and hygiene.

3. Kickstart working with Warp Studio

We have designed Warp Studio with great usability in mind. Clients love working with our products and they tell us it is very easy to use. However, creating your first scenario in Warp Studio can still be difficult. Where do you start? Which scene types do you use? In this workshop we will answer all of these questions, including topics like working with 360 ̊ video files, scenario distribution, LMS integration and analytics.

During this workshop you will create your first simple immersive scenario. After the first part of the workshop, you will also create another scenario, with a topic of your choice. After a week we will come back together to review.

Advanced workshops

There are 3 advanced workshops you can choose from:

4. Writing story-based immersive scenarios

In order to get the most out of immersive experiences in combination with Warp Studio, you need to be able to write story-based immersive scenarios. In this workshop we will teach the skills required to write high-quality story-based immersive training scenarios. During this workshop you will learn about storytelling, presence and setting the right challenge. We will teach you to write dialogues for actors, how to ask the right question and give you tons of examples, both right and wrong.

5. Filming and production of immersive scenarios

In this workshop we will teach you and your colleagues to actually film a training scenario with a 360 ̊ camera. We will teach you how to setup your gear using a consumer camera, tripod and external microphone. We will guide you through the pre-production phase, which includes scenario export, script breakdown and production schedule. Next are the 360 ̊ video basics, such as resolution, camera settings and the equirectangular format. We will roleplay filming with an actor and teach you how to stitch all videos in post-production. In between sessions you will film a scenario yourself, which we will review a week later.

6. Implement VR training into your business

In this workshop we will teach you and your colleagues how to implement and integrate VR training into your business. We will touch upon topics like which devices to use. When to play on smartphone, when use a VR headset. We will discuss scaling within the business. How to create more scenarios, how to play more scenarios? But also how to convince management of rolling VR in the first place.

We believe using VR is always part of a blended learning process. So how do you blend in VR? How do you integrate with existing LMS systems?

Book the bundle

Although each workshop is packed with skills and knowledge, hands-on practice, templates and instruction materials, you might want to combine workshops to create a full learning journey.

When combining workshops 3, 4 and 5, we can offer a full story-based immersive scenario creation bundle that gives participants the skills to fully write and film story-based VR training scenarios.

All workshops can be followed online through Google Meet, Zoom or any other conferencing software you prefer. All workshops have a maximum of 10 participants in order to guarantee enough personal guidance. Interested in booking one of these workshops below? Contact us for questions and pricing.
